Hi, I’m Andreia Melo — an artist and illustrator driven by a deep connection with the natural world and a fascination for its quiet, often overlooked stories.
I work with watercolor, gouache, and drawing to create images that live between observation and imagination — grounded in realism but layered with emotion, humor, and a touch of the unexpected. My goal is to bring people closer to nature by showing it not just as it is, but as it feels.
I develop personal and commissioned projects including original paintings, book illustrations, surface pattern designs, and visual storytelling. I also teach private lessons and creative workshops for those who want to explore their own relationship with nature through drawing and painting.
My work has been exhibited in group shows in Portugal and continues to evolve through a practice that values curiosity, subtle detail, and authenticity — even when it bends the rules.
I’m also the Community Manager for Make Art With Confidence, where I support other artists through mentorship, creative guidance, and community engagement. It’s a role that allows me to share what I’ve learned and help others build a creative path that feels like their own.
Alongside my illustration practice, I’m the founder and designer behind Niutrik — a pet accessories brand that blends my love of animals, illustration, and design into playful, functional pieces that add joy (and a little attitude) to everyday life with pets.
If you’re drawn to expressive animal art, natural scenes with personality, or want to learn how to illustrate the world around you with intention and creativity — welcome. You’re in the right place.
Vision
To reconnect people with nature through art — by inviting attention, curiosity, and wonder into the everyday.
My work aims to bridge what we feel with what surrounds us, creating space for empathy and presence in a fast-moving world.
Mission
I create illustrations and visual stories that celebrate the beauty, detail, and unpredictability of the natural world.
Working with watercolor, gouache, and drawing, I seek to inspire, collaborate, and spark meaningful connections with people and brands who see nature not just as scenery, but as something deeply personal.
Values
Connection with natureNature isn’t just my subject; it’s the source of everything I create.
AuthenticityI believe in honest, intentional work that reflects what I truly see and feel.
KindnessIn how I work, how I teach, and how I collaborate.
RespectFor the natural world, for others, and for myself — in the creative process and beyond.
